Re: In which all government sectors can a Post graduate in Management can apply for jobs?

A post graduate in management has immense opportunities when we consider jobs in the government departments or sectors. A post graduation will always enable a candidate for better job opportunities. Mostly the Post graduates in managements can apply for the position of Management Trainees in all the sectors. Now even the banks have started taking in the post graduates as management trainees in various nationalized and private banks too.

A post graduate in management has lot of opportunities for the government jobs in the following sectors such as –
    • Banking Sector- Where in they can apply for the positions of management trainee or Probationary officers or else in various specialist officers’ post.
    • Railways
    • ISRO
    • Civil Service
    • etc.

Regarding the written examinations, it is mandatory for most of the government organizations which will come as part of the recruitment process. The candidates will have to attend the written exam. Those who get short listed in these examinations will be called in for the next process of recruitment which will be mostly a Personal interview. In certain cases, the candidates will be directly called for the personal Interview. It all depends on the type of organization and the post for which applications are called in.

Thumbs up Re: In which all government sectors can a Post graduate in Management can apply for jobs?

    Hello,

No, the written is not mandatory for all Government Jobs like LIC-Life Insurance Corporation of India, Defence Services, RBI-Reserve Bank of India, Few Mini-Ratna Companies of Govt of India etc.
They select candidates purely based on the value of experience i.e. at least / skill expertise possess. But still the filtration process will take place in the psychometric tests like Group Discussions,
Case Study & Decision make Procedures etc, where candidates have to prove themselves as having enough skills to excel as a Leader or Manager.

Army/Navy/IAF:Call applicants for direct SSB Interview who have NCC 'C'-Certificate, MBBS etc.
RBI - Also call applicants directly for Interview for some posts where candidates have enough experience and qualification in the required Specialist Subject Officers.

Govt. of India Mini Ratna Companies- These organisations also call applicant for interview without any written test,i.e. only based on their past experience.
Central Vigilance Commission - Call for applications and Specially select candidates who possess qualities and special skills in Technical Field.

To count like there are few more organisations do recognise the work put up by candidates in their past employment as per reputation of organisation and select them
for the positions purely on Interview.

So what It can be said at last that, Initially one has to prove himself/herself to gain some experience through only hard work, then only a person will be eligible for the
option of joining any job without Entrance Test/Written Test would. (wittingly: Not like the Political Portfolios )

Re: In which all government sectors can a Post graduate in Management can apply for jobs?

The government sectors can a Post graduate in Management can apply for jobs in Master of Public Administration ( MPA ) is a professional post-graduate degree in Public Administration .The MPA program prepares individuals to serve as managers in the executive arm of local, state/provincial, and federal/national government, and increasingly in nongovernmental organization (NGO) and nonprofit sectors; it places a focus on the systematicinvestigation of executive organization and management. Instruction includes the roles, development, and principles of public administration; public policy management and implementation; the relations between organizational management and legislators; the public and non-profit budget processes and financial management; administrative law; personnel management focusing on civil employees; professional ethics; and appropriate research methods. [ 1 ] An MPA program typically takes 2 years of full-time, post-baccalaureate study to complete and can require additional time to complete a thesis .
Through its history, the MPA degree has become more interdisciplinary by drawing from fields such as economics, sociology, law, anthropology, political science, and regional planning in order to equip MPA graduates with skills and knowledge covering a broad range of topics and disciplines relevant to the public sector. A core curriculum of a typical MPAprogram usually includes courses on microeconomics, public finance, research methods / statistics, policy process and policy analysis, public financial management, managerial accounting, ethics, public management , leadership, planning & Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and program evaluation/performance measurement. Depending on their interest, MPA students can focus their studies on a variety of public sector fields such as urban planning , emergency management , transportation , health care (especially public health ), economic development , urban management, communitydevelopment , education, non-profits , information technology, environmental policy , cultural policy , criminal justice , etc.
MPA graduates currently serve in some important positions within the public sector including Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong , UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon , General David Petraeus , President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf , President of Mexico Felipe Calder¨Žn , Foreign Minister of Serbia Vuk Jeremi0Œ4 , NYC Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly , Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius , and former Commandant of the US Coast Guard Thad Allen . [ 2 ]
In recent years, there has been a gradual convergence betweenthe MPA and the Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree. Today, the course offerings of most MPA and MPP programs overlap to some degree, but MPP programs tend to provide more focused training in policy analysis and policy design, while MPA programs usually stillprovide more focused coursework in program implementation and public management.
