    Hi,

    Cutoff percentage depends on the PSU conducting the exam.

    E.g

    Sail , Bhel requires 60-65 % marks.
    UPSC , BSNL requires only graduates.

    The details you will get in the published notifications.

    The percentage requirement depend on the sector you are apply i.e. each has differnt requirement of miminum percentage.
    But a candidate should be atleast graduated to apply in the government sector.

    -->for CIVIL SERVICE EXAM- there is no cutoff in the percentage.
    -->IES --there is no cutoff in the percentage.
    -->ONGC--minimum 60 % in graduation.
    -->NTPC--minimum 60 % is requored.
    -->BEL -- minimum 60 % in graduation.
    -->BHEL--minimum 65 % in graduation.
    -->GAIL--minimum 60 % in graduation.
    -->SAIL--minimum 60 % in graduation.

    Selection process- Candidate who are eligible for the exam will be allowed to sit for the written exam and those who clear this exam will be called for the next round which is personal interview ,so based on these two round candidates are selected.

    Candidate should have a graduation in any field to apply for government sector.
    --Along with this minimum percentage a candidate should have a age in between 21-28 years .

    Different govt exam have different cut off marks.
    For example for govt bank jobs.Candidates has to secure 50% or more in each subjects to qualify the exam.
    For civil service it is almost 45% to 50%,for combined graduate level exam it is also same about 45% to 50%.Govt companies have different cut off to qualify the exam almost 60%.
    In defence like Airforce it is 40% & navy it is also 40%.
    For general candidates cut off marks is always high but for reserved category it is 5% less than general category.
