    hey aspirant..
its indeed an interesting question. because there are considerably lesser candidates opting for courses in ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE field..
but to tell u .. the environmental science if one if the most interesting discipline of study... you just dont study.. you get to learn to care for the environment.. and serve the nature in return..
and given that the world is at the worst state of global warming ... this field requires people to carry out research and carry out statistical analysis about various issues...
about the job prospects.. as i already mentioned this is a very demanding field.. as there is a huge demand for alternative source of energy in every industry and by the government..
your job can vary as per the requirement..
there might be places where you would be asked to carry out investigation studies on the extent of pollution that certain machines produce and like.. in such field you might be working with few engineers and engineering departments..
and once you excel in it.. you may also have oportunities to design a module to monitor various parameters..

my sincere advice is that you must join or work with government departments as the funding for the Environmental field is high and you have better scope..
    thANK U
    AND ALL THE BEST
