You need not to apply for different govt departments or different PSUs. A single exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) known as IES (Indian Engineering Services) which selected candidates for different Govt. departments and PSUs.

Aptitude Test is simple and need only some mathematics and mental ability to solve. For this you may read the following books which are helpful in all exams - \

    1) Quantitative Aptitude by R S Agrawal

    2) Non-verbal & Verbal Reasoning by R S Agrawal

After completing these books you would be able to solve almost all aptitude puzzles usually asked in aptitude test of govt. exams as well as in private companies.

Hi friend. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GOVERNMENT JOBS YOU CAN TRY FOR KAS OR IES EXAMS OR AS WELL AS YOU CHECK FOR government jobs website. Their you will get to know abt available openings of jobs. For private companies apti you have to prepare quantitative books , puzzels, verbal and nonverbal by R.s agarwal. And you can refer cracking of IT industry books too and better you refer respective previous question papers for respective companies tat available in internet.

ECE is one of the core branches. So you can definitely sit for the various government and core jobs.

Most of the govt companies recruit after looking for a valid GATE score. So you must try to have a good GATE score at first.

Besides there is also the requirement of aptitude and reasoning to get into these companies.

You can say RS Aggarwal is enough for Aptitudes. But you need to be technically even more sound to crack these companies.

ECE Students have both the choices to get job in both core and private sectors

....For applying the core jobs like DRDO,IES,ISRO,BHEL,NPCIL,BEL , you need to know your branch papers thoroughly

    >>>> for the private sector software jobs like tcs, infosys, syntel etc, you need to be perfect in aptitude and English.

    .............................best of Luck.......................
