Can a post graduate apply for the Bank exams for any posts? Can you give details about the exams?

I have done my post graduation with around 66% of marks. Can I attend the bank exams for clerk posts also apart from the PO or any specialist posts?

Re: Can a post graduate apply for the Bank exams for any posts? Can you give details about the exams?

Certainly a post graduate can apply for the bank exams for recruitment in to various posts in to the banks. Post Graduation with around 66% is definitely a good score which makes you eligible for attending the bank exams.

Regarding the bank exams, the minimum eligibility requirements for a candidate is graduation in nay discipline. The candidates should have taken the graduation from nay recognized university or college with around 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying examinations. Since you are post graduate your eligibility tends to be high. Regarding your question, there is no compulsory rules that a post graduate cannot apply for clerk position or a graduate can only apply for the clerical positions etc. Any graduate is eligible to apply for the post of both the clerk and PO in any banks.

Certain specialist positions require the candidates to have certain other eligibility criterions apart from the normal ones. In such cases, it will be specified in the notification in detail regarding these criterions. The candidates are selected mainly on the basis of the written examination which is conducted. Based on the final result of the exam the candidates are short listed for the Personal interview.

Re: Can a post graduate apply for the Bank exams for any posts? Can you give details about the exams?

Yes. A candidate who has completed Post Graduation can appear for Bank Exams. But whether the candidate is eligible or not for bank exams depends upon the percentage of marks that the candidate has secured in his 10+2 and Graduation.

After completion of Post Graduation, one can appear for Bank PO Exams. For this the minimum eligibility is the candidate has to secure a minimum of 55% of marks in the Graduation.

There will be reservation for the candidates of SC/ST in the percentage of marks.

This criteria will be slightly different for some other bank exams. From this year, all public sector banks other than SBI and SBI Associate Banks are going to conduct Common Written Exam for which the minimum eligibility for the candidate is just a pass in Graduation with any of the stream.

If interested, a Post Graduation completed student may also apply for Clerk Exams, For this the minimum eligibility is the candidate has to secure a minimum of 60% of marks in 10+2.

In order to be eligible for Bank PO Exams, one should be in the age group of 21-30 years.

Re: Can a post graduate apply for the Bank exams for any posts? Can you give details about the exams?

    Hi,

In a more specific way, YOU are ELIGIBLE to apply for all bank exams.

When the matter comes to attend POs and Specialist Officers, there are certain
eligibility conditions you need to fulfil.

i.e. With a simple post graduation, you may not be able to apply for Specialist Officers as the term itself denotes
Specialist, in this case your PG should be in Law or CA/ICWA or MBA or Engineering (IT) etc.
Also your PG should have been completed as a regular candidate with at least 2 Years of experience after attaining
    the referred eligibility qualifications.

But without any other special conditions you are getting eligible to apply for Probationary Officers and Clerical grades.
You can attempt both tests as they are conducted at different times and dates, so there is no problem at all.

You must take good coaching now since the competition has doubled from previous year. OK
    Best of Luck
