Mechanical engineering is one of the core branches of engineering and these engineers are required in almost all industries and all sectors. You can find many job opportunities in almost all sectors. In petroleum sector you can find vacancies in Oil and Natural Gas Commission, Chennai Petroleum Limited, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Limited, etc. In power sector you can find vacancies in National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Nuclear Power Corporation, Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation Limited, etc. In steel sector you can find vacancies in Steel Authority of India, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited, etc. Other public sector firms where mechanical engineers are needed are Indian Rare Earth Limited, Bharat Refractories, Indian Space Research organization, Bhabha Atomic Research Organization, etc. These firms conduct written test and interview for recruiting mechanical engineers. Some of these companies consider GATE score for recruitment of mechanical engineers. Apart from these public sector firms you can write the tests conducted by Union Public Service Commission, Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Board, Public sector Banks, Armed Forces, etc. For all these posts the recruitment is through written test and interview. The pattern of written test may vary according to the tests you apply for. You will get all the details about the exam in the notification. All these tests are highly competitive and hence you should prepare well for these exams.
