    There are considerably good number of opportunities for Civil Engineers both in Private and Government Sector. Some of the Government Sectors that offer various posts for civil engineers are:

    --> Indian Railways

    --> PWC

    --> NTPC.

    --> DVC.

    --> ONGC.

    --> BHEL. etc.

    For all the details regarding notifications and exam dates, one of the good ways is to regularly buy the employment news. Or there is also another economical and easy way, which is to regularly check any of these sites:

    You can get jobs by writing the merit tests held by the the government
    1) IES:Indian Engineering Service:
    It is held per annum by Union Public Service Commission,You can collect all the details like exam dates,how to apply and eligibility etc in official UPSC.
    You can write the exams for airforce,navy and in Indian army technical selection

    List of jobs for the civil engineer in the government fields are ::

    Railways ::

    Your age should be not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.There is relaxation for SC/ST in upper age limit of 5 years and for OBC its 3 years

    You should be graduates in any streams from any recognized university.

    IES::Indian Engineering Services is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES).

    You must have got Degree in any one of the following :

    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics & Communications Engineering
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering

    There are very few Government and Private sector companies which recruit Civil Engineers. Most of the government Construction and development companies recruit through recruitment exam conducted by the respective company. For getting good job you must get minimum of 60% in your Graduation. Your age must be in between 21 to 30 years. You must qualify GATE Exam with good rank in order to join in good company.
