Institute of Banking Personnel Selection released a notification for recruitment of I.B.P.S Law Officers Scale-I Posts.

Exam Pattern:

This exam pattern is as follows

Test of Reasoning -50 Questions-50 Marks

Test of General Awareness with the special reference of Banking Awareness-50 Questions-50 Marks

Test of English Language-50 Questions-25 Marks

Test of Professional Knowledge-50 Questions-75 Marks.

Total Number of Marks-200 marks

Total Number of Minutes 120 Minutes

In Notification clearly mentioned about paper pattern only.Not mentioned about detailed syllabus.

For Professional Knowledge,you should cover your academy syllabus in your graduation i.e A Bachelor Degree in law.

Educational Qualification:

A candidate should have a qualification is A Bachelor Degree in Law(LLB) can eligible to apply for these posts.

Age Limits:

If you want to apply for I.B.P.S Scale-I officers posts ,You should attained minimum age is 20 years and not maximum age is 35 years of age as on 01/12/2012 can eligible to apply for these posts

Written Examination Date as on 11/03/2012.

We have a nearly two month for this exam.

So you can make a good time table and follow the time table.

For reasoning,You should cover Reasoning Topics in Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning Books R S Agarwal Syllabus

For General Awareness With special reference of Banking Awareness,You should cover Pratiyogita Kiran and Banking Service Chronicle material for Banking Awareness.

You should cover Wren and Martin Books for English language

You should read Word Power Made Easy for Vocabulary.

You should cover your academy syllabus for Professional Knowledge

There are four sections in the exam each consisting of 50 questions carrying 200 questions in total.
First section consists of Reasoning questions carrying 50 marks.
Second section has 50 questions based on english language carrying 25 marks.
Third section has 50 questions based on the questins relating to the knowledge of banking industry. It is of 50 marks.
fourth section consists of professional knowledge test having 50 questions of 50 marks.

Total time for the exam is 2 hrs.

IBPS conduct the CWE exam every year for following post of specialist officer.

1. I.T. Officer (Scale-I).
2. Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I).
3. Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I).
4. Law Officer (Scale I).
5. Technical Officer (Scale I).
6. HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I).
7. Marketing Officer (Scale I).
8. I.T. Officer (Scale-II).
9. Law Officer (Scale II)

These are the detail syllabus of Law officer:-

Reasoning:- It consists of verbal and non-verbal test comprising blood relation test, number series, problem solving, figure problems, alpha-numeric relation test, syllogism, coded relationships, coded inequalities may be asked in the examination.

Numerical Abilities:- It cover number system, number series, percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and distance, time and work, average, age calculation.

English Language:- This section cover Passage Test, Cloze Test, Rearrange either the sentences or the words, error detection, Idioms and Phrases, fill in the blanks, spelling error, one word substitution, phrasal verbs.

Professional Knowledge of Law officer for IBPS:- This section cover the following topic.

basic knowledge on Laws of banking in India, the relations between banker and customer, Negotiable instruments, types of securities and so on. Here are some reference books for professional knowledge section of Law Officer and guide for General Awareness with special reference to banking Industry.
