    Details about how to approach the jobs in Railways? Which type of exams will be conducted?

    sir ,i am swetha now i am pursuing B.tech final year in metallurgical and material engg.
    sir i want to know the details to how to approach the jobs in rails? which type of exams will be conducted?
    plz give me the some clarification.......as soon as possible

    dear friend,

    Railways sector in India holds the pride of being one of the largest sectors offering a wide range of employment opportunities.
    The RAILWAY sector has employees at different levels of employment and the employees in the Indian railways are grouped under four groups namely A, B, C and D group respectively.

    The officers with highest positions are grouped under Group A, while the second level staff comes under Group B. The middle level employees are classified under group C, while the lowest paid cadre is the people employed under
    Group D.

    NORMALLY,you will be recruit to the Railway jobs on the basis of your performance on the Railway Recruitment Board Examination,and for this exam you should be graduate, which is conducted mainly for the purpose of recruitment of candidates as you for different positions.

    Recently, railways located in different parts of the country, called for applications from candidates as you for the following positions:

    --Group D posts South East Central Railway
    --Group D posts Northern Railways
    --Trackman, Assistant Pointsman - Railway Recruitment Cell (Central Railway)
    --Trasporter, Helper - Railway Recruitment Cell
    --Group-D Posts - Central Railways (CR)
    --Trackman, Yard Potter - South Central Railway
    --Helper II/ Khalasi - Western Railway (WR)
    --Gangman / Trackman - Western Railway (WR)
    --Group D Posts - South Western Railway (SWR), Hubli

    --Technician Grade-II, Technican Grade-III - Railway Recruitment Board

    --Assistant Project Engineers, Section Engineers - Konkan Railway Corporation Limited

    --Law Assistant, Stenographer - Railway Recruitment Board

    --Assistant Loco Pilot, Railway Recruitment Board

    --Additional General Manager, Deputy General Manager, IRCTC

    --Assistant Manager, Executive, IRCTC

    Since Indian railways has operations at central, southern, eastern, western and northern parts of the country, many employees are required for railways thereby this sector offers a wide range of employment opportunities.

    To appear for the RRB exam,you must be atleast eligible with these eligibility criteria these follows :

    --educational criteria

    --age limit

    eligibility criteria :

    1.Educational :

    Engineering graduates and if you are in the final year are eligible to apply for these posts. Also, if you degree in Msc or equivalent in Wireless communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible to apply for certain posts.

    2.Age Limit :

    you should be under the age group of 21-30 years. There is a relaxation of age limits for reserved categories.

    • Central Engineering Service
    • Indian Railway Service of Engineers
    • Indian Railway service of Signal engineers
    • Indian Railway Traffic service
    • Computer maintenance officer
    • Railway Protection Force Sub Inspector posts.
    • Junior Executive
    • System Analyst
    • Stenographer
