First of all, let me make clear that with your B.A graduation you can certainly apply for the IAS and the PCS examination. There are some eligibility criteria’s which are similar in both the PCS and IAS exam. The IAS exam is undertaken by the Union Public Service Commission in India. The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline. The candidates should have secured the graduation from any university which is reputed. In order to attend the Punjab Civil Service examination also the candidate should be a graduate in any subject area from a reputed and recognized institution. The final year graduates can also apply but they should be able to submit the proof for attending the exam. The candidates should be between 21 – 35 years to attend this exam. In case of the Punjab Civil Service examination, the candidates who are applying for the exam should have taken Punjabi as a separate subject. The candidates have to undergo a physical test as part of the recruitment procedure for which they need to meet certain physical standards which will be specified in the notification. The candidates belonging to the general categories will have 4 attempts in case of both the IAS and PCS exam. There is no limitation regarding the percentage of marks for attending both the exams hence, you with the above mentioned criteria’s can certainly apply for the IAS and PCS exam.
