    Recruitment to Indian Customs officer of government is done through civil services exam conducted by UPSC. So, to become a custom officer you need to appear in civil services exam.

    Candidate must be Completed a graduation degree from any recognized university with any discipline.Your graduation marks must be above 55% for custom officer exam.

    Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.Age relaxation is provide only for SC/ST/OBC candidate .For Sc/ST candidate have age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC candidate it is 3 years.

    Qualities required for the position as a Custom Officer

    1. Age limit- 18 years old
    2. Indian citizenship
    3. Must possess a Vehicle license
    4. Ability to work flexible schedules
    5. Have reliable transportation
    6. Should never have used drugs of any kind
    7. Must pass an extensive background check
    8. Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the desired position
    9. Must be able to activate a radio or telephone equipment and console monitors
    10. Display an aptitude to cooperate genially and communicate with the community

    Priventive Officer in Indian Coustoms:
    • Coustoms and central excise depatment come under revenue department of ministry of Finance.
    • The Nature of work is of 2 categories they are
      1.Checking of Incoming/outgoing people/ship/cargo for compliance is the work of coustom officials . For detectind concealment of goods monitoring trade , Movment . Marketing of goods.
      2. The coustoms and central excise department has wings preventon and appraisal that work under the rank of assistent commissioner.
    Eligibility Criteria :
    • Candidate should be an Indian.
    • Candidate should graduate from reccognized university .
    • Age limit 21-30 years , Age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates .
    Get post through 2 ways they are :
    • Through UPSC
    • Direct Selection
    1. Through UPSC : You have to write examination conducts by UPSC.
      Posted as seniour superintendents , Officers of Coustoms and Centeral excise services.
    2. Direct selection :Constables and Coustoms preventive officers and central excise inspectors/ Constables are the two stages where directed recruitment takes palce.
    Priventive Officers/ Inspectors :
    • In selection process , Candidates to this post staff selection commission holds an examination. Candidates fase an Interview board after Qualifying in the test.
    • Minimum height 157.5 cm height 81cms chest required.
    • 30min are given to candidate to cycle 8 kms.
    • 15 min to walk 1600 meters.

    The examination for preventive officer (Inspector) is conducted by Staff selection commission (SSC) every year for recruiting eligible candidates.
    Following are the details regarding Preventive officer examination-

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION-
    The candidates should have completed graduation from recognised/ university.

    AGE LIMIT-
    The candidates should have completed the age of 18 years but must not have completed 25 years. The candidates belonging to SC/ST,OBC,Departmental candidates and other reserved category candidates is given upper age relaxation.

    PHYSICAL STANDARD(minimum)-
    height- 157.5 cm
    chest- 81 cm

    Preventive Officer In Indian Customs :

    Indian custom department under revenue department of ministry of finance and here total 6 customs collectorates in India like;..Additional collectors and assistant collectors etc;..

    These officers are working for checking of incoming/outgoing people/ships/cargo and so if you want interested to join in indian custom departments,then you need to write the following any one entry positions like;..
    • Through UPSC
    • Direct selection
    • Constables
    • Preventive officers
    • Inspectors
    • Clerical cadres
    Apart from you are applying for Preventive officers,so for this post you need to write the entrance exam conducted by the SSC i.e Staff Selection commission.

    Required Requirements :

    For this post required educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation from recognized university.

    Required age limit 21-30 years for open category candidates and 21-35 years for SC/ST category candidates and 21-33 years for OBC category candidates.

    For this exam required to pass the physical effective test,and in this your minimum 157.5 cms height and chest 81 cms.

    In this test you need to cycle 8 kms within 30 minutes and 15 minutes to walk 1600 meters you must qualify this test.

    Selection Processor:

    For this the selection processor is based on the 3 stages like;.written test and physical effective test and personal interview.

    After qualifying written test conducted by the SSC called for physical effective test and personal interview this is final selection process.
