    Hello Member

This is Saurav signing in from Bhubaneswar.I would like to appreciate you for preparing so seriously for this banking sector exams.Banking sector is one of the most eminent growing sector of our country just after IT.There has been a substantial rise in the employment opportunities in this sector for the past few years.More number of youths are getting much attracted towards an exciting jobs prospect in this sector.

Now coming to your topic.Let start with the educational criteria.Well this sector doesn't demand much educational qualifications for appearing the exam. You just need any degree certificate from an open or recognized university with 55% marks for appearing the exam. However the participating banks may set their own criteria for selecting the best suitable candidates for the job.But I guess if you have 60% throughout your academics then surely you would be on the safer side.

As far as the age limit is concerned there has been relaxation to few section of society or few community of people for encouraging them a career growth in banking sector. The age criteria for appearing this exam is given below:

    GENERAL CATEGORY:
The Banking sector doesn't provide any reservation in terms of number of seat, age relaxation or cutoff marks to the general category people. You may expect Age limit for govt sector to be 18 -30 years. So overall no relaxation whatsoever.

    O.B.C CATEGORY:
For O.B.C CATEGORY banking sector provide only 3% reservation in both marks and age criteria. So, you may expect the age limit to be around 18 - 33 years. But remember O.B.C category under creamy layer will not be allowed to exercise the advantages of O.B.C non creamy layer. So if the O.B.C is under creamy layer then it would be considered same as that of General category.

    SC/ST CATEGORY:
For SC/ST category candidates ,the reservation in terms of seats, age and marks is a bit better than O.B.C category. The Banking sector provides 5% reservation in terms of both age & marks criteria. So,the age limit is around 18 - 35 years.

    PERSONS WITH DISABILITY:
For these peoples banking sector provide 10% reservation. So you may expect the age limit for these people to be around 18 - 40 years.

Hope my information helps you.Best of luck of a bright future

    Regards Saurav
