    Indian Police Services

    You are eligible for Indian Police Services according to your Educational qualifications criteria and also you have to check the height,chest and age limits below.

    Educational Qualifications
    Any Graduate with minimum pass marks from recognized University can eligible to apply for this exam

    Height

    A Male Candidate must have minimum 165cm for General Category candidate
    A Female Candidate must have minimum 150cm fir General Category Candidate
    For SC/ST/OBC Male Candidate require minimum height 160cm and Female candidate require minimum height is 1405cm
    Chest
    Male Candidate require 84 cm,Expandable chest is 89cm
    Female Candidate require 79cm and Expandable chest is 84cm

    Age Limits:

    A candidate must have attained minimum 21 years and not maximum 30 years as on 01/August/Exam Conducting year for General Category Candidates

    IPS:INDIAN POLICE SERVICE


    OBJECTIVE:

    => The First Police Commission, appointed on 17 August 1865, contained detailed guidelines for the desired system of police in India and defined police as a governmental department to maintain order, enforce the law, and prevent and detect crime. The Indian Police Service is not a force itself but a service providing leaders and commanders to staff the state police and all-India Para-Military Forces. Its members, who are all at least university graduates, are the senior officers of the police.

    ELIGILIBITY CRITERIA:

    => Graduation from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IPS. He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.

    => The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exam every year. The Civil Services Exam holds the key for entry into a number of prestigious jobs in the country including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).

    =>IAS, IFS, and IPS are the top three services of Group A, Central Services. The other Group A services include Indian Customs and Central Excise Service, Indian Revenue Service, and Indian Postal Service.

    => Civil Services Exam consists of preliminary exam (prelims), main exam (mains), and interview. The prelims are usually held in May /June. Mains are held in October/November. The exam is notified in December. Application forms can be obtained from designated post offices around the country and the exams are held in major cities.

    Yes of course.Percentage is no matter for this examination and minimum pass marks itself you can appear for this examination.

    Eligibility Criteria for this examination :-

    Bachelor's degree in any desire subject like Science or Commerce or arts from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

    The applicants age should between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination.

    Relaxation :-

    Upto 33 years relaxation is given to the OBC category.

    Upto 35 years relaxation is given to the SC/ST category.

    Upto 40 years relaxation is given to the Physically handicapped persons.

    Candidates who are completed or appearing in the final year of bachelor's degree can also apply for this examination.

    You need to clear the three levels.They are preliminary,main and Interview.

    Indian Civil Services which forms the major backbone of Indian government , governing all Major bodies which run the Central and State governments. Civil services mainly recruits 3 types of services namely
    1. All India Services
    2. Central Services
    3. State Services

    UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) conducts the common entrance exam All India wide for the young and meritorious aspirants who want to serve for the Nation through Civil services. UPSC exam is considered as one of the toughest exam in India in which 4 lakh people write the exam for nearly 900 posts.

    IPS ( Indian Police Service ) is one of the All India Service and controlling authority is Ministry of Home Affairs. The exam is mainly held in 3 rounds
    1. Prelims ( held in May )
    2. Main ( held in October / November )
    3. Interview ( held in March / April )

    Eligibility :

    Educational qualification :

    you must have completed your Degree in any stream from any recognized university or its affiliated college or from a Deemed university recognized under University grants commission act 1956 with minimum percentage of marks.

    Age Criteria :

    you must have minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years of age. Upper age relaxation is accepted if you belong to any of the special category like

    - SC / ST - 5 years.

    - Defense services personnel - 5 years.
    - State of Jammu & Kashmir - 5 years.

    Nationality : you must be

    - a subject of Nepal
    - a subject of Bhutan
    - a Tibetan refugee

    ~ Eye sight:6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1.The physical standards are weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes.

    ~ No of attempts:

    • General category:4 times,
    • OBCs:7 times
    • SC/ST:No limit.

    ~ The examination is conducted in three stages,

    To apply for the IPS you must fulfill the below Eligibility criteria ..

    You must have a minimum of Graduation from a Recognized university

    The minimum age must be 21 years

    Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years

    You must be an INDIAN

    Of course there will be an Age relaxation for the Reserved candidates ..

    Hello Friend!

    According to the information furnished by you, you are absolutely eligible for the IPS exams conducted by the UPSC every year.
    just go through the following details that i am giving here to reconfirm your eligibility in relation to Educational qualification, physical standards, medical standards etc.

    Eligibility for the IPS:
    i. Nationality: For the Indian Police Service, you must be a citizen of India.
    ii. Age: you should be Minimum 21 years or a maximum 30 years.The upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe candidates, & by 3 years for candidates of OBC people.
    iii. Qualification: you should be a graduate from any recognised institution. if you are in the final year of your graduation also you can appear at the preliminary exam.
    iv. Number of Attempts: General- four, OBC- seven attempts, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe- unlimited.
    v. Reservation: Reservation is there for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government from time to time.

    For IPS you also need to clear certain physical & medical standards as listed below:-

    Eye sight

    6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
    Near vision J1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye.
    The correction by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

    Ear-
    good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels.

    Nasal- clear and free from any polyps and injury, both nasal passages should be clear.

    Speech-The candidate should not stammer while speaking.

    Height
    Male 165 cm Male (general) & (SC/ ST/ OBC) 160 cm
    Female 150 cm Female (general) & (SC/ ST/ OBC)- 145 cm

    Chest
    Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
    Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

    Blood pressure (High) : 123 127.

    Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

    The physical standards are a rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc.

    In order to become an IPS Officer, you should have to crack civil services examination.

    This Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.

    The complete selection procedure for this is by
    -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
    -Civil Services Main Examination
    -Interview

    Here is the required eligibility criteria to appear for civil services exam.

    Academic Qualification :
    -You should have completed Graduation with any of the steam from a recognized university.
    -Even the candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to give this exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

    Age limit :
    -A candidate of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam.
    -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
    -For the candidates of SC/ST category, relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years.
    -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years for the candidates with physical disabilities.

    As you are a candidate pursuing final year of B.Com course, you are eligible to give this exam.
