    Eligibility requirement for TET exam by Tamil Nadu government

    Sir, i have completed M.Sc. B.Ed in Biochemistry. Am I eligible to write TET exam conducted by tamil Nadu Government?

    Hello Dear,
    The matter of concern would be the the subject; as you have mentioned that you have done Master of Science(M.Sc) in Biochemistry and then Bachelor of Education(B.Ed). However you may apply for following posts in teaching service for Government of Tamil Nadu based on your qualification after getting Letter of Equivalence issued by the Competent Authority i.e Government of Tamil Nadu ;the claim would be subject to the decision of the equivalence committee constituted as per G.O.Ms.No.441,P&AR(R) department dated 20-12-1993 and the decision of the government.

    M.Sc/B.Sc in following subjects are eligible as per the Notification by Teachers Recruitment Board,Government of Tamil Nadu.Therefore you need Letter of Equivalence from competent authority as your qualification is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment.
    1)Mathematics
    2)Physics
    3)Chemistry
    4)Botany
    5)Zoology



    You may apply for following posts in Teaching Service for Government of Tamil Nadu after getting Letter of Equivalence.
    1)Direct Recruitment through Competitive Written Examination by Teachers Recruitment Board on the post of "Post Graduate Assistant" in Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Educational Service.

    2)Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) conducted by Teachers Recruitment Board for the post of "Graduate Assistant".
    You can write Paper-II of TNTET for Graduate Assistant(BT Assistant) post for teaching class VI to VIII.
    Eligibility Criteria
    (B.Sc/B.A/B.Litt.) and one year B.Ed from a National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Recognized institute.
    B.Sc in above mentioned five subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

    you have to secure at least 60% in (TNTET) to get TET Eligibility Certificate,which will be valid for 7 years from the date of issue of the certificate.
    Refer attached notification for TNTET for more information like syllabus etc.

    TAMILNADU TET

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

    1. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2 Pattern) and
    Diploma in Teacher Education in a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET and
    seeking an appointment as Teacher for classes I to V (except Visually Impaired
    Candidates) can write Paper I.


    2. Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with
    Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and
    Geography or a Degree with any one of the equivalent subjects from a Recognized
    University under 10+2+3 Pattern and a Degree in Teacher Education (B.Ed.) from
    a Recognized University and seeking an appointment
    as Teacher for classes VI to VIII can write Paper II.


    3. Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of D.T.Ed. / B.Ed. during the
    current Academic Year are also eligible to appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test.


    Exam Pattern

    TN TET consists of two objective type question papers. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs and each question carries 1 marks totaling for 150 marks. There will be no negative marking. Following are the details of question papers:

    A.) Paper I: To become teachers for classes I-V in Tamil Nadu primary school.

    B.) Paper II: To become teachers for classes between VI and VIII in Tamil Nadu upper primary school.

    C.) Paper I and II: Desired candidates who interested in teaching from Class I to VIII. They can appear for both the papers and have to get qualifying marks to be considered for all the classes.

    dear friend,

    TET is Teacher eligibility teat.
    TET is an exam conducted for the purpose of hiring teachers for government schools or other areas.

    Teacher job is considered to be the noblest job in all kind of job opportunities present.

    National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) a statutory body of govt of India conducts TET exam for High school level teachers.

    NCTE has initiated this new criteria for teachers which is called TET. Everyone aspiring to be a teacher in lower highs chool level(especially) should pass Teacher Eligibilty Test(TET).

    As this exam is conduced by the state, the test is also called State-level teacher Eligibility Test(STET). It is a competitive exam .

    But to appear for this exam,you must have to satisfy certain eligibility conditions regards :

    --educational

    --age limit etc.


    B.Ed is a must to appear in the TET or STET.
    But the notable point is that the validity of the qualifying certificate B.Ed that is--

    B.Ed will be decided by the State Govt/Union Territory govt or Central Govt organization. The certificate cannot be more than 7 years old.or we can say that you are eligible till you have not complete 7 years after B.ED, after that, you are not eligible for TET.

    TET exam:-

    Educational Qualification:

    • Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC).
    OR
    • Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
    OR
    • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
    OR
    • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
    Age Limit:
    There is no age limit prescribed for candidates appearing for TET.

    Exam Pattern

    You are definitely eligible to apply for the TET conducted by the Tamil Nadu.

    TET is Teacher Eligibility Test.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

    ><Should have a graduation degree in any stream.

    ><Should have a B.Ed degree.

    ><There is no age limitation.

    ><No minimum marks are needed.

    ><Should be Indian citizen.

    ><Should know Tamil Nadu language.
