GATE scored required to get placed in PSU companies?

I have applied for GATE because i want to placed in PSU companies like NTPC,IOCL,BHEL & Power Grid. i am from OBC ,which gate score or marks i must get .Please mail these details to my mail ID vidyarani.electrical@gmail.com

Graduate Aptitude test in engineering is basically conducted for the recruitment of the qualified candidates for the M.Tech courses. The minimum eligibility criterion for attending the Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering is a graduation in the same discipline. The candidates can complete the B.Tech in any stream of engineering.

The candidate needs to attend the written examination as part of this. Regarding the use of GATE score for the recruitment of candidates in the PSU companies is not mandatory in case of all the organizations.

There are only certain organizations in the government sector such as NTPC, IOCL etc which recruit the candidates on the basis of the score in the GATE exam. It is not compulsory for the candidates to attend the GATE exam for attending the PSU exams.

The PSU exams are conducted for recruitment of candidates in to various government organizations such as BHEL, DRDO, ISRO, BEL, ONGC, SAIL etc. those who qualify in the written examination will be selected for the personal interview. The final selection will be on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the interview. The candidates can get the details regarding the companies in which the recruitment are based on GATE score is available in the official website of the specific companies. But on the other hand if the candidate gets selected for the interview, after cracking the GATE exam, it will be an additional advantage.

Yes it is necessary.Because some time the selection is depending upon the GATE Score also.That means if any two or more candidates secured same marks on that time the GATE score will be useful.So it is use some situations only

GATE can be used for hiring engineers in Oil PSU's however, it can't be used to hire non-engineers who are required in profiles like HR, finance, geophysical sciences and geology in the company.

It's probably one of the reasons why ONGC is not considering GATE for hiring new employees and instead rely on their own internal recruitment system.

PSU’s like BARC, NPCIL, HAL etc. give importance to GATE scores for positions in their organizations.

GATE is conducted every year on feb 13th.It conducted for the students want to study MTech.
