Re: Government job as ECE student in B.Tech?

    dear friend,

ECE is the best engineering degree after that you can get the job post under themany government and private departments through the respective entrance exam and you can get the job post under the technical department

Government department job posts for the ECE students :

    1. In the PSU's companies through the GATE entrance exam like :

    BHEL
    IOCL
    NTPC
    POWER GRID
    SAIL
GAIL etc thats like so many government companies which hire the ECE students based on their performance in GATE entrance exam

GATE entrance exam which has been conducted by the IIT Institute every year in the month of febuary ...

Before the GATE entrance exam you need top be do it fill up the application form in between the dates issues by the respective companies for the call letter for interview after the good performance in GATE entrance exam

    2. You can also apply for the job post under the BSNL department through the JTO entrance exam which has been conducted by the BSNL department for the technical communication job post

    3. You can also apply for the job post under the ISRO or DRDO department through the respective department job post

    4. In defense service job post like ;

    Indian army
    indian navy
Airforce etc through the CDS entrance exam which has been conducted by the UPSC department

    5. you can also give the IAS/IPS/IES etc entrance exam for the respective job post for which toughest entrance exam has been conducted by the UPSC department

so thats like so many job posts in which you can apply through the respective entrance exam...

    best of luck !

Re: Government job as ECE student in B.Tech?

Since you have completed Electronics and Communication Engineering, there are plenty of government jobs for you. You basically have two options which I will write about below. These options are:

    PSU

    IES

PSU or the Public Sector Undertakings are the companies where government of India is the major stakeholder. These companies are controlled by the Indian government. There are more than 150 such companies. These companies conducts entrance exam to recruit Engineering graduates for the various jobs. ECE are eligible for job in almost all the Public Sector Undertakings.

    Eligibility

    1. B.Tech degree from a recognized university.

    2. At least 60 percent marks.

    3. There should be no pending backlogs.

    4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years with relaxation in upper age limit for reserve category.

    5. For OBC - 3 years

    6. For SC/ST - 5 years

    Exam Pattern

    1) Written Exam

    2) Interview

Please note that several PSUs have replaced written exam with GATE score. Therefore I will advice you to appear for the General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) before applying for the job in PSU.

    List of PSU

    DRDO

    BHEL

    MTNL

    BSNL

    SAIL

    ECIL

    NALCO

    BEL

    ISRO

    ONGC

    HAL

    HPCL

    NTPC

    GAIL

    IOCL

    Indian Engineering Service

The only other option for you is Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam. This exam is conducted to annual basis by the Union Public Service Commission. This exam is conducted for various posts in different government departments.

    Eligibility

    1. You must be of Indian origin.

    2. Age limit is 21 to 30 years with some relaxatin for reserve category:

    3. For OBC - 3 years.

    4. For SC/ST - 5 years.

    5. You must have B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Re: Government job as ECE student in B.Tech?

    Hello,

There are many Government jobs in the central Government for a graduate. But technical jobs are a bit less compared to the non technical. If you are good at your core concepts you can get technical jobs with good amount of hard work. To get the technical jobs

you can join companies like BHEL,ECIL,BEL,BDL,ISRO,IOCL,ONGC,SAIL,GAIL
    or
you can write Indian Engineering Services (IES) conducted by UPSC

All these give very good amount of salaries as most of the companies mentioned above are NavaRatna and MahaRatna companies. Basic criteria for joining these companies including the eligibility criteria is you should qualify GATE exam for the current year. If you have a very good GATE rank, you have a very fair chance when compared to others.

You have one more job 'Prasar Bharati' conducted by Staff Selection Commission that recruits engineers in the field of Telecom . This year the exam is done. For info you can refer to http://ssc.nic.in

    All the Best.
