    The Customs and Excise departments is one of the most reputed an important government departments. The candidates have to attend the written examination which is conducted by the Union public service Commission. Those who qualify in the written examination will be short listed for the personal interview. The candidates in order to become a customs officer should possess the following criteria’s –
    • The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline. The candidates should secure the graduation from a recognized university or institute.
    • The candidates should be between the age limit of 21 – 30 years.
    • The candidates who belong to the reserved categories will be allowed relaxations in case of the age limits.
    • The candidates should have at least 55% of marks in the graduation level.

    The candidates have to attend the written examination as part of the selection criteria. The candidates will be tested in the following areas –
    • General awareness
    • Quantitative ability
    • Language and Comprehension
    • Logical reasoning

    The candidate also needs to be physically fit in order to attend this exam. The notifications regarding the vacancies in the customs department will be published. The candidates can apply online for this post. More details can be obtained from the official website of UPSC.

    Minimum Education Qualification:


    You should have a Degree with 55 % in any stream from any recognized University

    Age Limit:

    21 – 30 years

    Relaxation in upper age limit


    SC/ST -5 years
    OBC- 3 years
    Physically Handicapped - 10 years



    Examination syllabus:


    General awareness

    Quantitative ability

    Language and Comprehension

    Logical reasoning

    To become Custom officer you should appear in Combined Graduate Level examination:
