It will be better if you opt for the M.Tech(biotechnology) course at this moment. Because the technical base is preferred these days everywhere....As you done even have experience you should go for this... As far as career is concerned
Virology is very much needed in various fields like medicine, agriculture, veterinary and disease control. This profession is mainly dedicated to research based activities. You should have strong analytical skills to perform duties effectively. Good research skills are also required to carry out research activities. You should have the knowledge to operate the latest laboratory equipments required for research.
There is a tremendous scope for the dedicated & talented candidates in private as well as Govt. sector. In abroad M.Sc Virology is mostly employed in Hospitals for Immunological diagnostic laboratories.
For Virology, there is big package variations depending upon the skills of the candidate to operate the equipment & with their skills because the reagents envolved in diagnostic tests are very costly and interpretation of results is very important.
Generally in India you can except 3o-40 K per month as fresher. In Gulf 50-80K per month. In USA, Canada, Europe around 80K.
Try to get experience in PCR, ELISA, Invitro Cell culture.
