How to join a government job while working as a commercial tax department employee? Can I seek age relaxation at an age of 36?

I am commercial tax dept employee since 01/08/2002. when i enroll for the first time in gujarat government services i have not seek for age relaxation. At present my age is 36. Hence when i join govt job for the first time my age was 26. Can I seek age relaxation now onwards?
