    How to prepare for IAS exam as i have taken History and Public Administration for this exam?

    hi! i am working in a government bank .i have just finished my graduation in 2010 .i needed a job so tried and gat selected in bank.but its my childhood dream and my aim to become an IAS officer.i can work hard but i cant afford coaching as for i have to support my family .and i cant leave this job . i have chosen history & public administration for this exam .kindly guide me how to prepare
    for this exam.and suggest me books for these subjects in hindi language.

    Generally Selection procedure of IAS Officers is

    • Preliminary Exam
    • Mains Exam
    • Interveiw


    For Preliminary Exam,You need not to choose any optional subjects

    For Mains Exam ,You have to choose optional subjects

    First step of IAS Selection procedure is Mains Exam.

    If you crack preliminary Exam,You can eligible for Mains Exam

    haiiiiiiiiiiiii
    its a good choice
    first thing to do is to collect all the material you need for the mains as well as the preliminary
    you have to prepare simultaneously for the mains and for the prelims
    because by the time you get the prelims results there will not be sufficient time to prepare for mains

    you will be knowing that prelims will be having 2 papers general studies(ole model) & 2nd paper (new model) of english comprehension, reasoning, etc...
    for 2nd paper refer to quantitative aptitude by R.S AGARWAL
