Getting jobs in PSU like ONGC which holds Maharatna status is quite tough in today's competition market. You have to be focused towards your aim as well as do hard work for its preparation.
From this year,it has been decided that most of the PSUs will not take any separate test.ONGC is also one of them.Instead the recruitment will be done through the GATE score in the respective engineering discipline. So,you have to prepare for GATE exam in the subject of chemical engineering.
The exam paper will consist of 65 questions carrying 100 marks.Time duration will be 3 hours. The questions will be objective type.10 questions out of total 65 questions carrying 15 marks will be from General Aptitude. The remaining will be from chemical engineering subjects.

Questions will mainly be of four different types-

    1.Multiple Choice
2.Common data questions (which are also multiple choice questions), where two successive questions use the same set of input data.
3.Linked answer questions (which are also multiple choice questions), where the answer to the first question in the pair is required to answer its successor.
4.Numerical answer questions, where the answer is a number, to be entered by you.

You have to concentrate on each and every subject inorder to get good rank and good score. You should study entirely all the topics mentioned in the syllabus of GATE for chemical engineering. Here,I have attached the syllabus.
