    Job options for Mechanical engineer with a drop of 4 years? Can i apply for customs officers being a Mechanical engineer?

    I'm a mechanical engineering student entering into the fourth year, holding a drop of 4 years during the course... do i have an option of getting any kind of mechanical related jobs or else need to do any courses... please help me with the needful response as my family members are dependent on me. i have a plan of studying for customs officer.. please guide

    Hello,

    Since you have a 4 years gap during the course of your Mechanical Engineering,so it is quite

    problem to do job in that line.But you can apply for the custom's officer's Post.This job has huge

    earnings,you won't imagine..!!

    You have to qualify the CIVIL SERVICE exam.It is conducted by UPSC (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION).This entrance exam provides for the candidates 27 services like Indian customs,central excises services,etc.

    The exam is conducted in 2 sections of Preliminary exam and Main exam.

    --Eligibility Criteria--

    You should have the bachelor's degree(which you have) and should have at least 55% of aggregate.
    Based on the merit obtained in graduation level,only you will receive admit cards.

    --Age--

    You must be above 18 years of age.

    You must have a vehicle licence.

    You mustknow the operation of a radio or telephone equipment,monitors,etc.

    --How to prepare?--

    Have some more knowledge in current affairs,Gk.

    Have good habit of reading newspapers.

    Have some good communication in English,Maths.
