Job oriented career option after B.Tech Mechanical

i have completed b.tech Mechanical in 2011 ( backpapers yet to be cleared). i believe my higher studies are limited since i haven't passed b.tech.So i would like to do some short term courses & grab a job as far as possible and hoping to clear my backpapers while working. i dont want a career in design or any drawing related field (piping, CAD etc).however i like the following fields 1) production 2 ) thermal 3) maintanence, but i dont know which course to do. Moreover i'm very much interested in making a career in safety engineering, is it good ?
currently i'm confused , I am hoping someone here can help me.
    Regards,
    Ezhak

There are also many shout term courses also like CAD, Pipe engineering etc. The Mechanical engineering course offers students wider application in almost all sectors.

The mechanical engineering involves the areas of designing, information, analysis and maintenance of various machines. M.Tech in mechanical covers the designing. thermal and production engineering and many more. The mechanical engineers can work in different industries like aerospace. Automobile, power generation manufacturing, chemical, etc.

The various roles in which a mechanical engineer can perform are:
    • Associate Professor

Re: Job oriented career option after B.Tech Mechanical

M.tech would be a direct progression of your bachelors. The specializations you can go for in MTech are: mechatronics/robotics, transport and logistics, cryogenics, fuel technology, automotive engineering, biomechanics, vibration and optics etc. Other option is going in for short term courses .Few short-term courses which would enhance your career are doing CAD and CAM. You can also go for 3D modelling CAD/CAM/CAE softwares like CATIA, Solidworks, Unigraphics, ProE etc.

The options for a Mechanical engineer are quite vast; they can work mainly in manufacturing firms but also have opportunities in administrative and managerial positions in government departments or public and private sector industries or do research as well as teaching in Research and teaching institutes.

Once you have gained some experience you could further look at upgrading your knowledge base by doing a post graduation.
