after graduation in mechanical engineering u have good scope of getting in PSU's like ONGC ( good growth career for mech, as this company deals with both upstreaming and downstreaming) upstreaming- drills out Crude required for production of petroleum products from various sources like earth, ocean. so mech has good opportunity here.
downstreaming- refining the crude for finished products. (companies like IOC, BPC, HPC , MRPL,RIL,) these are main industries...
job of mechanical engineer in these companies is maintainance job and u ll b put in Thermal power stations of refineries.. and
NTPC is also very good company for u n ur career..
