Re: Last 5 years RBI model question papers?

    Hello member

This is Saurav from bhubaneswar.First of all I would like to wish you a good luck for this wonderful exam.Well now a days many students deciding to start their career in the banking industry.Banking sector has also shown a boon in gaining a rapid momentum in recent years. There has been a surprising growth in the banking sector since last decade due to industrialization and better standard of living of the people.More or less the banking sector jobs are as secure as that of govt sector/PSU jobs.More number of youths are showing their interest in the banking sectors because the salary is good and nevertheless the emoluments and perks are even better. So keep up the spirit and try to crack this exam with a good score.Opportunities often keep coming to everyone but it doesn't necessarily mean the next opportunity would be a better one.It could be worse also. The next opportunity may be a better one but it wouldn't be same as that of the one you are having now.So think about it and act accordingly.

RBI assistant exam will definitely have a good difficulty level. So make sure you are good enough to crack the exam with a high score.Just qualifying the exam wont help.Their are many factor behind getting a call for an interview after qualifying the exam like Total score, number of seats etc.I need not be discussing all that otherwise I would feel like like going off topic.Anyways let come to the point.I am going to share the tips and tricks along with the syllabus and the weight-age of marks to each section to be able to help you cracking this exam with a wonderful score.Hope I would be able to help you and many like you.

    General Aptitude :
The syllabus is quite easy. But some problems do take much time.So time management is very important here. You can learn better time management by solving sets of questions. If you prepare well solving good many number of questions on each and every chapter then it would not take more than 10 to 15 days getting mastery over this section.

Recommended book(s)- Dr.RS Aggarwal quantitative aptitude

    Reasoning :
This is a difficult section. Why I am saying this to be a difficult section is just because you can't really get complete mastery over this section. But yeah solving lots of questions and sets will help gaining confidence. But again time management is very important. Most of the candidates feel this section to be tough.

Recommended book(s)-Verbal and non verbal reasoning by Dr RS Aggarwal

    General English :
This section will not trouble you if you are belonging to a English medium background. But yeah sometimes there would be questions requiring good vocabulary and tricks.

Recommended book(s)- high school grammar and comprehension by Rein and Martin ,Word power made easy by Norman Lewis

    Computer knowledge :
Again this is not a difficult section if you are used to basic terminology of computer and have a good knowledge in surfing and MS-office.Make sure you answer as many as possible by spending less time in this section. Its a real marks scoring section.

Recommended book(s) - Go into market and ask for objective computer knowledge by kiran prakashan

    General Awareness :
Many say this is the most difficult as there is no proper syllabus for this section. But I reckon this section to be mark scoring one just like computer knowledge section. All you need is to develop a mugging up habit for a couple of months.Yes this may sound awkward to few but the fact is you need to remember of important dates of some important recent happenings, their causes ,outcomes or results and conclusion. Moreover now a days banks a new strategy of asking half the total number of questions strictly from the banking sector only including important banking terminology. So all in all this is not a difficult section either.

Recommended book(s)- Subscribe to "The Hindu" or "Times of India" newspaper and get the pratiyogita darpan and pratiyogita kiran journals

Total marks and weightage of individual section:
There will be 200 questions.A total of 40 questions from each section.

total marks per question = 1 mark
    total marks per section = 1 X 40 = 40 marks
total marks of the entire exam = 200 marks
negative marking for wrong answers = 0.25 marks

Note:There will an individual cutoff per section. So you need to make sure that you are doing minimum 20 questions correct per section to get qualified. But then again as said earlier high scoring candidates are much likely to be selected for the next rounds.

Now everyone would be wondering "what can be a job fetching score??"

Well its decided by the difficulty level of the question paper and number of candidates appeared. Also the total marks obtained by the topper and number of vacancies in that particular state. But with the current trend in the market particularly with the PO and clerical selection procedure which is being laid down by many banks I reckon a score of 145 and above should comfortably place you into the next round which is an interview round.A candidate scoring above 165 should sail through comfortably.Hope my information helps you.Best of luck.As far as model questions are concerned they are available everywhere in the internet. So practice hard and have the self belief.
