Govt. exams are divided into five parts:
1) English language
2) Reasoning
3) Quantitative aptitude
4) General awarness
5) Computer knowledge

English language can be prepared from wren & martin book and daily reading of english newspaper will also help you a lot in having good command on english.
Reasoning can be prepared from R.S. Agarwal and previous year question papers for practice which will help you to know the quality of questions and type of questions should be prepared and where you lack knowledge.
Quantitative Aptitude can also be prepared from R.S. Agarwal and 8th, 9th 10th class C.B.S.E. mathematics books.
General awarness through daily reading of newspaper like Hindustan Times, The Times of India and listen to news on channels like aaj tak, CNBC, NDTV, etc.
Computer Knowledge can be prepared through basic books from class 6th - 10th and practice papers.

Lastly like to suggest for lots of practice as "PRACTICE MAKES THE MAN PERFECT."
