there are many type of jobs in banks. Clerks, Assistant Managers, Senior Managers, etc. , for clerks minimum qualification is PUC and all other posts degree is must. Now a days all banks are computerised. Hence some banks give preference to having computer knowledge candidates.
The written test conducted by the banks mainly objective type. It contains some aptitude test, reasoning, English grammar test, some mathematical problems, etc. In this test in a short time you are able to answer more questions. So speed is must. It is better while learning you should keep time for answering.
It is not necessary to have high mathematics knowledge. The test contains simple additional, multiplication, division, and subtraction problems. For this you may refer some English grammar books, old BSRB books, or some other guides. You may also go for banking exam coaching class.
After qualifying in written exam you have to face interview. In this interview they may ask some general knowledge questions, banking related questions, etc.
Dear Friend,
Bank tests indeed require a moderate level of knowledge in mathematics.
Since numerical eligibility of the student is inevitable they will surely check it.
Try to practice not memorize mathematics.
If needed go to a coaching center.
But continue individual work also.
Wish you all the best.
yes it is an important criterion but upto a level, you should have command at the 12 standard mathematics and more important than this is 10 standard mathematics. english is far more difficult than mathematics for bank entrance,so focus on that.

Hello dude!
Be it a School or a College,Mathematics always plays a key role among all the subjects. The trend continues in bank exams also because most of them believe that Mathematics is always tough,if you prepare well and concentrate on the basics part then this will be the easiest and the scoring subject. In bank exams, there will be a section with the name Numerical ability. It is all about calculation of numbers.Unlike quantitative aptitude this paper would require simple mind calculations only.Given the job profile of a bank employee, test of numerical ability mainly aims to find out how fast you arrive at the correct answer.
There will be 50 questions in the clerk exam, each question carrying one mark and for every negative answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.Basing on the previous papers, the topics that are mostly covered are mentioned below:
1.Numerical Problems(Missing number,Series Completion etc.)
2.Percentages(Profit and loss,Shares,)
3.Market Price,Cash Prize and Expenditure problems.
4.Time and Work,Speed and Distance Problems.
5.Fractions,Ratio,Average and Volume.
6.Simple Interest and Compound Interest.
7.Factoring(L.C.M and H.C.F)
These are the important topics, most of the questions are based on the above mentioned topics only. The Preparation tips are mentioned below:
1.Firstly read the given question properly.
2.Know about the BODMAS RULE and try to practise many problems on it.
3.Try to use your common sense in solving the problems that are related to Distance,Age and Time.
4.Calculators are not permitted inside the examination hall, hence learn formulae or shortcut methods to solve the questions quickly.
5.Time Management is the key thing while solving the papers. So more practise will make you perfect. This is the importance of Mathematics in the bank exams and even in the other competitive exams also it plays a vital role.
Coming to the exam pattern in the nationalized banks, there are 5 sections. Each section consists 50 questions. The 5 sections are mentioned below:
