Is mathematics knowledge an important criterion for cracking the bank exams?

Will there be any additional advantage for the candidates having knowledge in mathematics such as B.Tech or B.Sc graduates for cracking bank exams? What is the exam pattern in the bank exams of nationalized banks?

Re: Is mathematics knowledge an important criterion for cracking the bank exams?

For cracking the bank exams there should be some kind of extra effort from the side of the candidates who intend to apply. The candidates need to prepare thoroughly for the bank exams as it is one of the most competitive examinations. A large number of candidates take part in this exam.

Regarding the mathematics knowledge the candidate’s needs to have only basic mathematics knowledge may be up to the 12th class for these exams. The questions will be on the application of the basic mathematical principles in it. There is no added advantage for students of B.Tech/B.Sc in bank exams except for the fact that they would have studies mathematics in graduation level too. The candidates need to practice the various short cut methods involved in solving the maths questions within the time limit in the exam. If going for bank coaching, the candidates will be given training in these aspects. Hence through constant practice one can achieve it. Since there is negative marking involved in most of the bank exams, the candidates should be careful while answering the questions.

Regarding the pattern there will be questions from the following sections such as-
    • Quantitative ability
    • Logical Reasoning
    • General Awareness
    • Computer Knowledge
    • Language and Comprehension

The pattern of the exam is above mentioned which is same for all the nationalized banks. Sometimes, it may change with regard to the various posts for which one is applying.

Re: Is mathematics knowledge an important criterion for cracking the bank exams?

The written exam pattern of nationalized banks is given below:
    1. General banking and socio-economic knowledge.
    2. Logical reasoning ability.
    3. English language.
    4. Computer knowledge and
    5. Numerical ability.
Each part contains 50 questions each of 1 marks.
In this way the maths has its 20% role in the banks exams. By this way the role of maths becomes some important in the banking recruitment exams.

there are many type of jobs in banks. Clerks, Assistant Managers, Senior Managers, etc. , for clerks minimum qualification is PUC and all other posts degree is must. Now a days all banks are computerised. Hence some banks give preference to having computer knowledge candidates.

The written test conducted by the banks mainly objective type. It contains some aptitude test, reasoning, English grammar test, some mathematical problems, etc. In this test in a short time you are able to answer more questions. So speed is must. It is better while learning you should keep time for answering.
It is not necessary to have high mathematics knowledge. The test contains simple additional, multiplication, division, and subtraction problems. For this you may refer some English grammar books, old BSRB books, or some other guides. You may also go for banking exam coaching class.
After qualifying in written exam you have to face interview. In this interview they may ask some general knowledge questions, banking related questions, etc.

    Dear Friend,
Bank tests indeed require a moderate level of knowledge in mathematics.
Since numerical eligibility of the student is inevitable they will surely check it.
Try to practice not memorize mathematics.
If needed go to a coaching center.
    But continue individual work also.
    Wish you all the best.

yes it is an important criterion but upto a level, you should have command at the 12 standard mathematics and more important than this is 10 standard mathematics. english is far more difficult than mathematics for bank entrance,so focus on that.

Because there is a large number of candidates who take part in the Bank exams so there is a big and tough competition amongst the candidates. So, the candidates should prepare thoroughly for the bank exams as it is one of the most competitive examinations. As far as the knowledge of Mathematics is concerned, the candidate’s should have only basic mathematics knowledge i.e. up to the 12th class for the preparation of the Bank exams. The questions in the exam are about the application of the basic mathematical principles . There is not any advantage for the students of B.Tech or B.Sc etc. in these bank exams. The candidates should pay attention to do practice of the various short cut methods for solving the maths questions in the minimum time in the exam. In good coaching centers, the candidates are given training in these aspects. Because, generally, there is a negative marking system in most of the bank exams, the candidates should be careful while answering the questions. The pattern of the exam is almost the similar for all the nationalized banks. The pattern of these exams generally consists of Quantitative ability, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge and the Language etc.

Re: Is mathematics knowledge an important criterion for cracking the bank exams?

    Hello dude!

Be it a School or a College,Mathematics always plays a key role among all the subjects. The trend continues in bank exams also because most of them believe that Mathematics is always tough,if you prepare well and concentrate on the basics part then this will be the easiest and the scoring subject. In bank exams, there will be a section with the name Numerical ability. It is all about calculation of numbers.Unlike quantitative aptitude this paper would require simple mind calculations only.Given the job profile of a bank employee, test of numerical ability mainly aims to find out how fast you arrive at the correct answer.

There will be 50 questions in the clerk exam, each question carrying one mark and for every negative answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.Basing on the previous papers, the topics that are mostly covered are mentioned below:

    1.Numerical Problems(Missing number,Series Completion etc.)
    2.Percentages(Profit and loss,Shares,)
3.Market Price,Cash Prize and Expenditure problems.
4.Time and Work,Speed and Distance Problems.
    5.Fractions,Ratio,Average and Volume.
    6.Simple Interest and Compound Interest.
    7.Factoring(L.C.M and H.C.F)

These are the important topics, most of the questions are based on the above mentioned topics only. The Preparation tips are mentioned below:
1.Firstly read the given question properly.
2.Know about the BODMAS RULE and try to practise many problems on it.
3.Try to use your common sense in solving the problems that are related to Distance,Age and Time.
4.Calculators are not permitted inside the examination hall, hence learn formulae or shortcut methods to solve the questions quickly.
5.Time Management is the key thing while solving the papers. So more practise will make you perfect. This is the importance of Mathematics in the bank exams and even in the other competitive exams also it plays a vital role.

Coming to the exam pattern in the nationalized banks, there are 5 sections. Each section consists 50 questions. The 5 sections are mentioned below:
    • GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
    • QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
    • NUMERICAL ABILITY
    • COMPUTER BASICS
    • ENGLISH
Every section consists of 50 questions, each question carries for 1 mark. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. This is the exam pattern for clerk exam in the nationalized banks.

HOPE THE INFORMATION HELPED YOU AND ALL THE BEST.

Intended for breaking the financial institution tests there must be an excess hard work through the section on the candidates that will apply. Your candidates must prepare carefully for the financial institution tests since it is the most competitive examinations. A large number of candidates experience this exam.

In connection with numbers know-how a candidate's needs to have only basic numbers know-how could possibly be around a 12th category of these exams. Your queries will likely be in the effective use of the usual exact concepts with it. There isn't any increased benefits for college students with B.Tech/B.Sc with lender tests with the exception of the fact that they will could have research numbers with graduating level too. Your candidates will need to use various short-cut strategies involved in fixing a maths queries while in the time limit from the exam. In the event that going for lender instruction, a candidates will be presented with trained in these kind of aspects. That's why by constant exercise 1 is capable of doing it. While there is damaging labels involved in many of the lender tests, a candidates ought to take care while responding to a questions.

In connection with pattern it will have queries by the next parts such as-
    Quantitative ability
    Realistic Reasons
    Typical Understanding
    Laptop or computer Understanding
    Language as well as Appreciation

Nowadays. Intended for breaking any kind exam,Maths has become a important subject matter be it basic by category 10th. Yet you will need to experience a phase with maths as well as It's not too significantly tough. If you would like, then you can certainly unquestionably split it with the hard work as well as normal exercise.I'll claim a person to pass through a person's maths basic with 9th as well as 10th class. That will become very useful for breaking lender exams. In Bank, most of us recognize all the purposes will be achieved by exact usage. So,When you are prepared to penetrate Bank Segment as well as in different superior occupation ,then you definitely will have to be prepare to the maths. It is definitely not to hard ,When you have self-control as well as agency determination .then lan it as well as split it.

Re: Is mathematics knowledge an important criterion for cracking the bank exams?

    Hello,

Mathematics knowledge is always very important in any of the exams whether technical or non technical . For bank exams it is more important as you have Quantitative Ability as one of the sections and without having a basic knowledge on mathematics you cannot solve some of the Logical Reasoning Questions also. And these two sections are always there in any bank exam irrespective of the exam. And in all bank exams you need to be fast enough to score more and to be a step ahead. So you must know some tips and faster methods in solving math problems. So you need to be good at mathematics.
And the pattern varies from bank to bank but generally it will be

    a) Quantitative Ability
    b)Logical Reasoining
    c)English
    d) General Awareness/ Computer Awareness

All the Best.. Working hard matters but work smart really matters a lot!!
