Job profile:

Unmarried male candidates are invited to apply for the posts of Airman in Group ‘y’ (Non Technical) in Indian Air Force for August 2010 recruitment.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be between 19 1/2 -23years

Educational Qualification:

Candidates should have passed intermediate or equivalent with Science, Art or Commerce with atleast 50% marks in aggregate for applying for the posts of Airman in Group ‘y’ (Non Technical) in Indian Air Force.

No. of posts: Several posts are availbale for the position of Airman.

Indian Air Force Academy which recruits the young and courageous aspirants who wanted to start their career in Flying , IAF gives chance to the young cadets to become Pilots running in supersonic jets.

IAF mainly drives the recruitment process for two sections

1. Officers
2. Air Men

Officers cadre : Depends on your qualification you can enter in different posts in officers section .

I. 10+2 qualification : you enter into IAF through NDA ( National Defense Academy ) exam.

II. Graduate : Only Engineering Graduates are only applicable for entering into

1. Flying Branch : In take through CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) Exam

2. Technical Branch : If you have completed your Graduation in Aeronautical Engineering you can apply for Technical Branch.

3. Ground Duty Branch : It consists of different operations regarding Traffic Control , Administration , Accounts , you must be a Graduate in any stream with 55% marks.

2. Air Men :

IAF recruits the Air Men through the all India exam conducting every year for different cadre's Group X and Group Y which needs different eligibility criteria.

- you must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate with Mathematics , Physics as your main stream with minimum 55% marks
or
you must have passed 3 years Diploma course in Engineering with minimum 50% marks.

Age : your age must be in between 17 - 22 years of age.

Group Y :

- you must have passed 10+2 with Science , Mathematics , Engineering , Commerce , Arts subjects with minimum 50% marks.

Age : your age must be in between 17 - 22 years of age.

The Indian Air Force is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict.

Generally,the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China.

Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include

Operation Vijay - the invasion of Goa,
