The percentage is always considered as the parameter to judge the students capability, and to some extent that is also correct,a student with a good percentage is generally a good student and a student with a bad percentage is bad(USUALLY).That is why the percentage is always the important factor, for admission in colleges and while applying for the job etc.

Hence your question is basically correct,it is necessary to have a good percentage in order to get a job.But along with that, you should know that the work and experience is also equally important,if you have clear idea about the functions about the job ,then you will be able to do good for your company. After all its the knowledge that will help you to at every stage, try to make your knowledge good in your subjects,if you have a low percentage then you do not have much knowledge, try to study again those subjects, and make yourself a masters in it.

Re: Is it necessary to get good percentage for IT job?

See the percentage on which you could get recruited in the top institutions or companies solely depends on the sector to which the job belongs, ie if a person wants to get recruited in private sector then there is no such demand for a very good aggregate marks in the B.tech degree but if the same person is looking to settle himself in private sector then he has to pay attention to his aggregate marks not only of enginnering but also of 10th and +2. In top private sector companies the average aggregate marks asked by the company to be elligible to sit for the vacancy is 70% or above in B.tech and 60% and above in 10th and +2. And if you succed to achieve these percentile then you have wide range of options to get into private sector companies. In IT sector you can get into companies like SYNTEL, SAPLAB, ACCENTURE, IBM, HEWLETT PACKARD, APPLE, CISCO SYSTEMS, HONEYWELL, TCS, WIPRO, INFOSIS, HCL, ZENSAR, PATNI, COGNIZANT, DELL, INTEL, YAHOO, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT. In ELECTRONICS sector you have option of getting into companies like NOKIA, SIMENS, ALCATEL, BELKIN, HUAWEI, BEETEL, IFB, SAMSUNG, LG, PHILIPS INDIA. To get into any company of private sector you have to impress the recruiters in all aspect whether it be with your knowledge, skills and potential or whether it be your way of presentation and communication skills. In public sector with a technical graduation degree you have an option of getting into PSU's like BHEL, SAIL, GAIL, NTPC, ISRO, AAI, RAILWAYS, POWER GRID, THERMAL POWER SECTOR, ONGC, DRDO, BSNL, IOCL, ECIL. You also have an option of getting into services like IAS, IPS, IES through qualifying the UPSC exam . You can also get high prestigious post at state level after you qualify the BPSC exam. Another option for you is to get into banking sector by scoring high ranks in the IBPS exam(IBPS exam is a combined exam conducted as to do recruitment in 19 public sector banks on the basis of applicant's score in the IBPS exam and his qualification). You also have an option of getting into DEFENCE or NAVY after you qualify the exam for that. So basically to get any desired position in public sector you have to face various exams accompained with interviews and on the basis of that you can expect to grab a post in public sector

Re: Is it necessary to get good percentage for IT job?

    Dear Friend,

you should have atleast 65% to get gob in most companies ,,but there are some MNCs who wants higher percentage as such 70/75%or more.....

Basically company looks for candidates who are good in general intelligence, reasoning and english....So if you are good in these fields then your percentage is not going to make

any chances in most of the companies recruitment process..

So you should not take any headache if you are good in reasoning,Aptitude and Have good communication skill, then you can advantage of these things ..

Also after having a good experience in some good software companies ,,you could also apply in Google,Yahoo and Amazon..etc

    Good Luck!
