Hello dude!
The percentage required for getting government jobs is at least 55% in 10th standard,60% in 12th standard and also 60% in B.Tech.But it is better If you Have more than 65% in your B.Tech because It makes you eligible for all the jobs even private.
Most of the Public sector companies recruit candidates based on the GATE EXAM,that is the candidates who have qualified in the GATE exam are eligible for this posts. But after getting selected for the Interview process and if your percentage is low then other candidates are preferred,So it is better if you have good percentage.
Even some Private software companies like INFOSYS,WIPRO,MICROSOFT require candidates with percentage more than 68% and then only they are eligible for the selection process.
So study well and make sure that your aggregate is above 65% before you com out of the B.tech and apply for the jobs. For notification refer the newspapers. Also concentrate on the Campus Interview that recruit candidates by visiting colleges.
HOPE THE INFORMATION HELPED YOU AND ALL THE BEST.

Re: Percentage required for government jobs after B.Tech?
hi,
i had completed my B.E in computer science i had 64.9 % aggregate and for govenment job it is 65% aggregate am i alligble or not please reply ???
IS ELIGIBILITY CRETERIA FOR APPEARING IN GOVERNMENT JOBS IS ALSO BASED ON 12TH STANDARD PERCENTAGE. IF YES THAN WHAT IS THE ELIGIBLE PERCENTAGE
If you are interested in government job, you will have to qualify certain types of Entrance Exams conducted on state as well as on national level.
If you have done B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, than I would suggest you to write Engineering Service Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission. For this examination, you need to be within the age limit of 21-30 years.
Apart from this exam, you may also appear for entrance examinations conducted by state level Public Service Commissions, Railway Recruitment Board of your state etc.
For any of these examinations, there is no percentage criteria and so is for most of the jobs in the public sectors.
68% in 10th , 51% in 12th , 63% in b.tech . may elligible for govt. job?
The percentage required for getting government jobs is at least 55% in 10th standard,60% in 12th standard and also 60% in B.Tech.But it is better If you Have more than 65% in your B.Tech because It makes you eligible for all the jobs even private.
following are the companies,
IOCL
NTPC
SAIL
MTNL
BHEL
BSNL
ONGC
etc
Any Question?
