    Qualifying Exam:

    My dear friend
    The income tax exam consis of the following papers
    1.General intellegence,2.general English
    3.arithmetical ability ,4.General awareness
    Note:1.The questions of the all papers objective multiple-choice type
    2.candidates will be required to qualify in each of four tests separtely.The commission will have full discretion to fix the minimum qualifying marks in each of the four tests
    3.only those candidate who qualify in each of the four tests would be eligible for being called for personally test(interview) which will carry 100 marks

    The income tax exam is conducted by the SSC.

    Eligibility criteria:
    1.A degree in any discipline
    from a recognised university 2.Age limit should be between
    18 and 27. The application forms are
    available from Febraury at http://www.ssconline.nic.in Last date to send the filled
    forms is around March. The candidates who qualify
    the written exam are called for
    an interview. The exam is about: 1.General English 2.general awareness 3.Logical thinking 4.Arithmetic ability 5.Current affairs

    INCOME TAX OFFICER as the name itself indicates is an officer who deals with income tax related matters of central board of CBDT.

    The eligibility criteria is as follows:
    1. The candidate must have a bachelors degree of any stream.
    2. The candidate must have attained an age of 18 years and must have not attained 27 years of age on the date of examination.

    EXAMINATION DETAILS:
    The candidates will have a preliminary examination before the final examination and the candidates who are qualified in the preliminary exam are eligible to attend final exam.The subjects are as follows:

    • For the entrance into Income tax department at officer post, you need to apply for the CGL examination.
    • CGL refers to combined graduate level examination which is conducted by the Staff selection commission (SSC).
    • You must have the minimum qualification of graduation in any of the stream but it should be from the recognised university and there is no minimum marks requirement.
    • The age of your's must be in between 18 years to 27 years.
    • If you are from reserved category then age relaxations will be provided.
    • It has three stages tier I, tier II and interview.
