    Steps to get job in Railway?

    dear sir i am intrested in govment job and specialy in railways so what should i suppose to do to get job in railway is thir any course or any other criteria plz plz guide me

    In order to get a job in Railways, you need fulfill certain eligibility criteria. If you want to get in to an officer positions in Railways minimum qualification required is graduation. Diploma or 12th class candidates are eligible for junior level post. Notifications about current vacancies in railways will be published in official website. Candidates can apply for suitable positions via online on that basis. Selection process necessitates the candidates to attend RRB exam. Those who pass this exam will have to attend personal interview as well.

    Age limit :

    20 to 30 years for general
    33 years for OBC
    35 years for SC/ST

    The officers in Indian Railways are divided in Four Grades

    Grade - A,B,C,D officers
    Civil Services Exam :
    Indian Railway Traffic Service
    Indian Railway Accounts Service
    Indian Railway Personnel Service
    Railway Protection Force
    Combined Engineering Service Exam
    Indian Railway Services of Engineers
    Indian Railway Stores Service
    Indian Railway Service of Medical Engineers
    Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineer
    Railway Service of Signal Engineers

    Well to get job in indian Railways you must appear in several examinations conducted by Indian Railways.

    These are some jobs for which you may apply :
    * Junior engineer
    * Loco pilot
    * Ticket collector
    * Computer operator
    * High rank officer entry for DRS,etc
    * Doctors for Railway hospital
    * Engineers for various purposes from trades like ME, CS,IT,ECE,EEE/EE,Civil Engineering
    * Managers

    You can enter in various exams like :

    * SCRA
    * Civil Services
    * Engineering test
    * Delhi Metro...

    *The Indian Railways have been divided into several zones for the purpose
    of administration. There are several divisions and departments under each zone.

    *Each division has a certain number of technical and non-technical departments.

    *The technical departments in Railway Jobs require civil, mechanical, electrical and telecommunication engineers and other professionals.

    *The non-tehniccal departments deal with general services such as accounts,
    personal management, security and railway protection force (RPF).

    Railway officers of the highest rank belong to Group A whereas officers of the
    lowest rank belong to Group D.

    Group A :

    *The Group A officers are recruited by UPSC.

    *Railway Jobs Recruitment to the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS)
    and the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) is done through the Civil
    Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

    *Recruitment to the Indian Railway services of Engineers (IRSE), Indian Railway
    Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) and Indian Railway Services Stores (IRSS)
    is done through the Combined Engineering Service Examination.

    *The UPSC also conducts a Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) Exam annually.

    Group B :

    *There are no special examinations for the selection of Group B employees.
    Most of them are directly promoted from Group C.

    Group C and Group D :

    *Group C and Group D employees are recruited by the Railway Recruitment
    Boards (RRBs). There are 19 RRBs .

    *RRB's exam notification will be released according to the the recruitment of the
    posts. you can read the notification in the newspapers.
