My Dear brother there was a limit but there was not a open system i am saw many candidates my friend also get 168 marks in this examination but there was no system to tell us but you can use the law of RTI right to information if was nesseory there was 75% chance you will get your answer.

each section carrying 50questions and each one have one mark

there is no highest score depended on the exam
it depends upon no of candidates only and also selection process based on the candidates , cast and marks details , age limit .

so the result will be declares in three parts by IBPS . The result was declared on 29th february 2012 . But as your marks are 170 then yes u have a great chance to get the job n u just prepare for the interview ok... go for it ...

The highest score in ibps are different accordind to category section,like sc/st,obc,general category.as one get 231 marks from may be the highest in high marking.so,for all other high marking you should contact to the ibps query centre.

IBPS has not provided any data related to highest or lowest marks of candidates.
But minimum qualifying marks varies according to category of candidates.

IBPS has provide the minimum qualifying marks categories wise:-

1.For General category candidates:-Candidates must have scored 24 or above in each subjects.Failing to score that will lead to fail in that exam.


2.For SC/ST/OBC category candidates:-Candidates must have scored 21 or above in each subjects.Failing to score that will lead to fail in that exam.
