Re: What is the Recruitment Procedure For Electronics Engineering in Indian Railways?

Being the second largest Railway system in the world, Indian Railways generates lots of jobs every year to the Indian Nationals. The broadly divided Zones of Indian Railways and its Divisions have technical and non-technical departments to which the recruitments are done through Competitive Exams. These Exams are conducted by Union public service commission (UPSC) and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The entry is done through three different channels:
    • Group A
    • Group B
    • Group C
Group A officers are recruited by UPSC through:

    • Civil Service Examination for Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) and the Indian Railways Accounts Services (IRAS)
    • Combined Engineering Service for Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Indian Railway Services of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) and Indian Railway Store Service (IRSS)
Group B officers are directly promoted from Group C.

Group C officers are recruited through the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The 19 Railway Recruitment Boards in India (RRBs) have been functioning as prime recruiting agencies for all Zonal Railways, Production Units and other extra Zonal units of the Indian Railways. The Group C posts include assistant station masters, drivers, motormen, guards, signal and mechanical inspectors. Here again, staff are divided into technical and non-technical staff.
For Group A Services of Indian railways and related details, Readers can read details from our UPSC Exams section.

For the Group A services, the Railway Recruitment Board conducts the following Examinations:
    1-techinical carde examination
    2-non techinical carde examination
    3-rpf sub inspector/constables examination

Re: What is the Recruitment Procedure For Electronics Engineering in Indian Railways?

    Dear Friend,
Our Indian railway falls under categories /groups like A,B,C,D.

Each group recruited differently with different entrance exams hald at zonal level by RRB.

Vacancies in Indian Railways are filled either
by recruitment by Recruitment agencies like
UPSC or RRB or by promotion from serving
    candidates.

Group A recruitments are filled by UPSC by
    All India Competitive examinations.

Group B posts are normally filled by
promotion from serving Group C candidates.

Group C recruitments are made by Railway
Recruitment Boards having both technical and non technical cadre involved.

Group D posts ( Those posts with GP 1800)
are filled by Railway Recruitment Cells

As yu belongs to technical field group C fits you or you have chance in A through UPSC.

    Good Luck!

Re: What is the Recruitment Procedure For Electronics Engineering in Indian Railways?

    Hello friend,
Today many student from BE / Btech. faculty looking railway as carrear propective.

You belong to category C in Indian railway as it is divided into four classes. A, B, C, D.

C group further divided into two classes technical / non- technical. you belong to technical cadre.

In technical cadre including civil engineers other engineers are recruited undr RRB.
There no special recruitment procedure for each branch of engineering.

After getting recruited , respective job you have to perform in department.

Our railway also give chance to employees to get promot themselves to group B. As their is no seperate exam held for this group.

So for future there are many vacancies available to BE /BTech students.

    Good Luck!
