    If talking about the right time then it would be from the very first class.You have to be dedicated towards the field you want to study or to get a job in that field.As almost every UPSC exam has a general ability test so you have to be smart and quick in every field either it is of your interest or not.Although its very late as you are in your last year of BBA but still you can do if you study newspapers daily and and try to study things very strong fundamentals....
    .......Have A Nice Day.......

    Dear Friend,
    The dates of UPSC exams was announced and the schedule is as follows,
    * Date of Notification- 04/02/2012
    * Last Date of recept of Application- 05/03/2012 (Monday)
    * Date of Commencement of Examination - 20/05/2012 ( Sunday)
    So, if your really serious about this exam then you have very few days to prepare for this exam. because the syllabus for this exam is very tough and also the examination is tough. So you have to stat preparing from now on words.

    TIPS FOR IAS PREPARATION:

    • Start preparing for IAS exam at least 12 months in advance to prepare for IAS prelims as well as mains. Doing so you have a good chance of cracking the IAS in the first two attempts itself.
    • Routinize or schedule your day effectively. Keep aside at least 4 hours everyday for Prelims GS preparation. In the remaining time study your Mains optionals.
    • Choose the right optionals for IAS exam. Donít just go after the popular optionals as all optionals are equally scoring provided youíre interested in them.
    • IAS preparation requires focused study rather than plain hard work. Cover a few topics at any point in time instead of studying 3 or 4 topics simultaneously.
    • Always keep the syllabus and past five years questions papers for effective ias preparation. This way you keep on track and cover all parts of the syllabus instead of just focusing on one or two topics.
    • read the newspaper for IAS exam. This is essential as 30-40 questions in Prelims and Mains concern issues that are highlighted in everyday news. Apart from current affairs you also need to read the newspaper editorials to handle exam in GS Mains exam
