Dear friend if you have 65% overall percentage in your b.tech than it is not so bad percentage ...with your 65% marks you can applicable to apply for the Govt. sector jobs..
And for getting govt. sector jobs you should be firstly appeared in any civil service exam than you can get the govt. sector job..
And you ask that you want to get admission in IIT , so i tell you that with such this low percentage you are not eligible to get admission in IIT colleges ...

Re: Government jobs for B.Tech holder with low percentage?

    Hi dear,

Now a days, many companies are recruiting based on GATE score. Other than this..,, there are bank clerical jobs, Railway jobs which require only graduation, they didn't consider graduation percentage. Coming to postal, it recruits based on Intermediate percentage not on graduation percentage.
Another way in government sector is Staff Selection Commission (SSC) which has many sub sectors like food corporation, combined graduate level, lower division clerks etc. So, don't worry about the percentage which you didn't get and concentrate on the future which is in your hands.

All the best for your career.

Re: Government jobs for B.Tech holder with low percentage?

If you are getting above 65% in aggregate in B.tech, then you will be eligible for 95% of the govt or private jobs available for Engineers. You do not need to bother about such marks.Keep your score above 60%. Having 65% is an added advantage. You have just got the marks of 3rd semester why are you bothered about marks from now.Study properly you have 5 more semesters to go.Aggregate marks increase in Final year as there will be project in the last 2 semesters which will help in getting good marks. As regarding GATE,Gate does not have any marks criteria as such but there will be different criterias for marks by Institutes offering m.tech or for PSUs recruiting through GATE.But none of them asks for above 65%.Maximum 65% is the cutoff for some PSUs.
